How to Prepare for Your Senior Session

Senior Sessions are so fun! You're getting ready to graduate and start life in the adult world. Your senior photos will be sent to family members with your graduation announcement, posted every #SeniorSunday, and help you remember this amazing time in your life. You may want to just get through senior year and be done with high school, but don't treat your senior photos like that! I've been specializing in senior photo sessions for years, and today I've gathered all of my best tips to help you prepare for your senior session, get the most out of your photos, and look AMAZING.

1. Read our Style Guide! We send a Style Guide to every senior before their session! Our Style Guide will tell you exactly what to bring, best colors for the season, accessory recommendations and more. You'll be so prepared, and look super stylish for your photos!

2. Drink lots of water, and go easy on foundation! In the weeks leading up to your senior session, try to drink at least 40 oz. of water every day and take it easy on the make-up foundation. This will help your skin clear up from acne, red spots, dark circles under your eyes and more. You want glowing, healthy, happy skin on camera! And, yes, we do edit out non-permanent blemishes on your face. These include zits and red spots. However, we do not edit out permanent features like freckles, moles, etc. Embrace the things that make you unique!

3. Get your hair and makeup done! Doing your own hair and makeup for your shoot is perfectly fine, but hair and makeup artists are there to help you accentuate your best features and make you feel more confident! If you plan on doing your own makeup, you can see my recommendations for easy and beautiful makeup here.

4. Get confident! Being in front of the camera is hard. I promise to direct you at all times and make sure you always look amazing (that's my job!), and your job is to be you and be confident! Build yourself up beforehand, wear fancy clothes, have a before shoot dance party; whatever makes you feel great.
