Our house is done being framed! It's been a while since an update, I know. Framing is a long process! We do all of the framing process ourselves for all of the houses.
Last blog post was about our foundation, so we'll pick up from there!
First, our lumber was delivered and we put on the green plates! We also had to vacuum out our basement due to some water puddles that were in the way.
Then, we started framing the basement. Since our basement will be mostly unfinished, not all walls will be put up. Our stairs, landing and utility room will be finished. We built all the walls and when we stood them up, we could also work on our main floor flooring!
We put on main floor joists as the basement was being framed. It was such a cool process! We also got our porch covering, for the cement to go on later. It's also the roof of our cold storage room.
Once the joists were on, we sheeted the floor. This has been my favorite part of framing each house we build! I love nailing the floors on, and it's so great to see it all come together.
After the floors were on, it really started looking like a house! We put up our exterior walls. We build walls on the floor so we can put the boards together easier, take better measurements, and square them up before lifting them. We also sheet exterior walls while they are laying down so they stay square.
After the exterior walls were up it was time to build the interior walls! We changed a few minor things on our house plan, but most of it is as it was drawn.
Our house is framed and waiting for trusses next week! It'll be so great to have a roof, since it already snowed on our house once! Follow along here for more updates.
