Doors and Floors!

Our floors are done and our doors are painted!

We decided on dark red for our front door and white for our other doors. Our front door color is called Rookwood Red from Sherwin - Williams, and we did three coats. I was nervous about having a red door at first, and having it be too bright, but now that it's done it's perfect! It looks darker in person as well. It was so fun to paint!

Back in June, our flooring was delivered. It's Luxury Vinyl, which is similar to laminate but a lot more water resistant. Our Luxury Vinyl is from Hart Flooring in Logan, and the color is Walnut Mocha. We chose Luxury Vinyl because it wears better, but here are less color options. I was nervous about this one but it turned out great! Daylen picked the color. It's really hard to tell from the photos, but it's a gray-ish brown.

First, before we could do floors, we had to wait for our cabinets to be put in by sub contractors. I love our cabinets! We've always wanted a dark brown, but changed it to a more gray version than the reddish one we had originally picked. I'm so glad we changed it! They're perfect.

Once cabinets are in we could prep the floors by sanding them down and cleaning!

After prepping the floors and making sure they're level, we built the first piece of floor in the middle so we could lock it in good, and then slid it over to the corner. It's relatively easy to do floors! There's no adhesive for these, they just lock together. Once the first part is done, it's easy to continue the pattern.

Right after our LVT floors were finished, subs came out and put our carpet in! It looks so good! The floors made our house feel so much more done. I love it.

Next is landscaping and some more finish work! We'd love to have anyone come out who wants to volunteer to get things finished up. Let me know!
