We finally have a driveway, sidewalk and steps which means all of our concrete is finished and we can start landscaping!
Concrete isn't something we do ourselves, subs come out and do that. It was the first thing we saw happen to our house when our basement floor and foundation was poured! Now that we are done with most of the inside of our house, we got our concrete on the exterior finished up so we can landscape.
First, was our driveway. This was the coolest part for me because it makes our home feel more finished! First, subs brought in gravel and flattened it out to where our final grade of topsoil and grass will be. They framed it out, along with our front steps and connecting sidewalk.
The next day, it was poured! We couldn't walk on it for a few days, and it didn't completely dry for a bit after that. It was so cool! We brought Bridgette out on an off day, along with my mom and Rob to see it. Bridgette loved it!
The next week we marked out where we wanted our patio. If it's not marked out, they'll center the patio on the steps. We decided we wanted the patio to move over so it lined up with the steps so we'll have a full 6 foot space on one side instead of two 3 foot spaces on each side.
Last came our sidewalk. This was the final piece before we can landscape!
