We love visiting Honolulu and Waikiki! It's such a beautiful paradise, with so much to do. Honolulu is on the island of Oahu, and is the most populated island in Hawaii by far. It is at the south end of the island near the international airport, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, and many resorts.
I'm so excited to be sharing my favorite things to do in the Honolulu area. Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu, so I will be including that as well. If you have some favorites as well, leave them in the comments!
1. Visit Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor is an awesome experience! There is a memorial of the USS Arizona, and some other museums and memorials as well. It's free to see the USS Arizona memorial, with some additional add-on exhibits available for purchase. There is also a great gift shop there and beautiful grassy area for some snacks.
2. Have dinner at Tiki's Grill and Bar. This was our favorite dinner in all of Hawaii! Tiki's is such a cool place. It's on the higher price end, but so worth it because of the quality of the food, and the atmosphere. If you have one nice dinner on Oahu, make it Tiki's! Daylen and I got the ribs and the strip steak, and they were both amazing. It's rare that I find an expensive place that is actually really yummy. It was super fun to drink out of a real coconut that I got to keep, and the ocean views were beautiful! It's right on Waikiki Beach. I recommend asking to eat outdoors if the weather is nice.
3. Walk along Waikiki Beach. Waikiki Beach is so pretty! There is plenty of sand and water space, even though it does get pretty crowded. There is a section that is open ocean and reef, and a section with the Waikiki Wall. The Waikiki Wall creates a pool of the ocean with less waves and no reef, just sand. It's great for kids!
4. Shop in Waikiki. Whether you're looking for souvenirs and snacks, or high end items and gifts, Waikiki has everything. There are so many shops in cute little plazas along the road. Plus, you have a great view of the ocean as you shop! We loved getting souvenirs from boutiques and the many ABC stores along the road, and there are also some great restaurants there.
5. Hike Diamond Head Crater. This famous crater was formed 300,000 years ago in one single eruption. It's $5 to enter, and $10 to park for non-residents. It's a strenuous but short 0.8 mile hike to the summit of the crater, and you'll have a view of all of Honolulu and the beach from above.
6. Get professional vacation photos done. There is no better Hawaii souvenir than professional photos! I love going to a gorgeous location and being able to have fun, get dressed up, and have someone take photos so I don't have to worry about it. Daylen and I travel all of the time for photos and we love it! Click here for more info.
