10 Fun Things to do in Jackson Hole Wyoming

Jackson Hole Wyoming is one of my favorite places in the world that I've been to. I have been visiting Jackson since I was a kid, and now, my husband and I love to go together. There is so much to do in Jackson Hole and nearby that make it the perfect weekend trip! Especially since we only live 3 hours away. We love to camp while we are there, fish, hike, photograph the mountains, and enjoy time in nature. I've compiled a list of my 10 favorite things to do in Jackson Hole, though there are many more to be discovered! Let me know in the comments if you have any other hidden gems we should try out.

Hike the Hidden Falls Trail in Grand Teton National Park

This is my favorite hike in the Tetons! You'll start at Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. You'll ride on a water taxi over to the other side of the lake (or hike around if you have extra time), and start on the Hidden Falls / Inspiration Point Trail. It is a gorgeous hike with waterfalls, views from the Tetons of Cascade Canyon and the valley, and the always beautiful Jenny Lake. It's not too strenuous of a hike. Definitely a can't-miss hike in the Tetons!

Have a Steak Dinner in Jackson Hole

Wyoming is famous for it's steak, and Jackson Hole has a large variety of steak restaurants to try! From Snake River Grill, to Silver Dollar Restaurant, to Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, you can't go wrong. If you like steak, Jackson Hole is the place for it. If you're near Star Valley, check out Flying Saddle Resort in Alpine for the best restaurant in the area!

Fish or Raft the Snake River

The famous Snake River runs through Jackson Hole and there is no shortage of river activities to do. There are lots and lots of river rafting companies that will take you rafting on the river through the nearby canyon, as well as guided fishing trips. If you're not the fishing or rafting type, there are lots of great picnic spots and campgrounds along the river to enjoy the gorgeous scenery! Head to the Smith's in Jackson to grab some food and hang out by the Snake River for the afternoon.

Photograph Mormon Row in the National Park

The famous Grand Teton National Park barn is on Mormon Row in the park! Follow GPS to get there and you'll find a variety of old barns from pioneer times that are perfect to photograph at sunset. You'll have a great view of the Tetons behind the barns! It's a great spot to bring a blanket or some camp chairs and watch the sun go behind the mountains.

See the Antler Arches and Shop in Jackson Square

A must-do in Jackson Hole is stopping for a photo by the antler arches in Jackson Square! There are four, on each corner of the square, and are made up of elk antlers from local elk refuge. They are made up of over 2,000 antlers each, and are held together mostly by gravity and need to be rebuilt about every fifty years. They are a staple of Jackson Hole, and so cool to see. There are so many fun souvenir, art, jewelry, furniture, and other shops in the square as well that we love to visit. Our favorites are Jackson Hole Trading Company, Wild West Designs, and Lee's Tees.

Visit Jackson Lake

If you like fishing, boating, kayaking, swimming, or any other lake activities head up to Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park! It's a gorgeous, clear, mountain lake in the park that has marinas, restaurants, great fishing, and beautiful views of the Tetons. We love visiting Jackson Lake and wading in the cool water after hiking around in the park.

See the Jackson Hole Rodeo

What's better than a rodeo in Jackson Hole?! Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm head down to the Jackson Hole Rodeo to see bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, roping and more. The rodeo is a blast and the best part is, it's not just one week per year.

Take the 42 mile Scenic Loop Drive Through the Park

If you want to see as much of the park as you can but don't have as much time, take the scenic loop drive! It's made up of Teton Park Road, Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, and Highway 89. You'll get to visit places like Snake River Overlook, Cunningham Cabin, Moose WY, Jenny Lake, and more. Gorgeous views of the Tetons, lakes, trees, wildlife and more.

Dance to Live Music at Million Dollar Cowboy Bar

The famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson Hole is a blast! It's a steakhouse restaurant as well as a bar, and they have live country and folk music every night. Yes, every night! You can't go wrong here. It's so much fun!
