We've done some fun things the past two weekends! First, my mom and I went to Vintage Market Days. It's a vintage flea market in Logan that we love. Every year they visit in the spring and fall! This time we decided to try to be one of the first 50 people in line to get a swag bag. I had heard about them before but this is a popular event so you have to plan on being there super early! We were planning on going for months, but a week before the event, I happened to win two tickets on Instagram so we lucked out!
Mom arrived in Hyrum at 6:30am and we drove right to the fairgrounds. We ended up being numbers 9 and 10 in line! The swag bag was pretty cool. We waited more than three hours to get in! By the time they opened the gates at 10:00am, there were over 100 people in line. The market was a lot bigger this year than last time we went. There were two big fair buildings full of vendors from antiques to brand new vintage feel items to food trucks. We got some pretty cool things including wood flowers, a cactus, home décor, soup mixes, and treats like an old fashioned vanilla cream soda! I tried to get a cool ford garage sign for Daylen but by the time I called him to confirm he liked it, it was sold. Things go so fast! It was so much fun. Can't wait to go next time they visit!
The next weekend we went to Ogden for a day to see our favorite baseball team. They're back! The Ogden Raptors played their first game since 2019 on May 22, and we were there. If you live in Utah, you have to visit Ogden to see a Raptors game. They are a rookie team that used to be affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Daylen's favorite team, in the Pioneer League of MiLB. They have since become independent after many teams lost MLB affiliation in 2019. Raptors games are a blast! We go every year, except 2020 when they didn't play. So glad they're back!
Daylen and I drove down to Ogden that Saturday, and met my mom and Rob at Rooster's on 25th street. It's one of our favorite restaurants. I used to live in Ogden and Daylen lived very close, so we spent a lot of time downtown growing up. None of us have ever tried the rent-a-scooters before though, so we decided it'd be fun to kill time before the game and try them! It was definitely a highlight of the day. Who knew they were so dang fun?! We rode the electric scooters to Union Station and around the parking lots there. Definitely adding them to my Ogden Date Ideas. Then, we rode them to the game!
The game was a blast, as usual. We got some treats, walked around the stadium, and saw a Raptors win. They had fireworks after the game as well, which they do for the season opener and 4th of July week. I so missed these games! I can't wait to go to more this year. Mom and Rob scored us some great seats too, 3rd row!
