Happy birthday to us! Daylen and I are 11 months and two weeks apart, which means our birthdays are really close together. Mine is June 23, and his is July 3! Those two weeks are the only time of the year we are the same age. This year for our birthdays, we took a trip to one of our favorite places ever, Jackson Hole Wyoming, with mom and Rob! I was excited since we know the area really well and got to show mom and Rob around.
We planned a few things including birthday dinner, shopping around the town, and some hikes in Grand Teton National Park. Daylen and I get a National Parks Pass every year, so whenever we are close to a park, we try to use it. Grand Teton is one of my faves! We head up to Jackson Hole and Grand Teton twice a year usually, but didn't get to go in 2020. I've missed it!
We camped near Alpine along the Greys River. It was such a pretty spot. Daylen fished the river near camp, and we made a big breakfast one morning! It was the perfect time of year for wildflowers.
We spent most of our time in Grand Teton National Park. This park is so underrated. It's right on the way to Yellowstone so most people just drive right through it. We have spent some time there, but haven't done any of the big hikes. This time, I planned a hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point near Jenny Lake! We shuttled across the lake in a boat to get to the mountains where the hike was. It was a great hike, not too long and not too hard but still gorgeous. Hidden Falls is so pretty! And we could see all of Jenny Lake from the top.
We shopped in Jackson Hole for a bit in the evenings. Jackson Hole is famous for it's shops and cowboy style. We got some souvenirs and had fun seeing all of the western themed stores! We ate at two new places we've never been to before: Gun Barrel Steakhouse and Silver Dollar Bar & Grill. They were both good!
On our last day, we headed out to Jackson Lake in the park. It's my favorite spot in the Tetons. We fished from the shore for a bit and got some sun! I love seeing the marina and the view of the Grand Teton Peak from the lake! The water is so clear.
