Over Daylen’s birthday weekend we took a fishing trip down to the Boulder Mountains near Capitol Reef National Park! We love visiting southern Utah, it’s so gorgeous.
We camped up in the Boulder Mountains outside of Torrey. We spent most of the time fishing and exploring the mountains on our four wheeler. We even drove over an hour on our four wheeler up the mountain to a lake at the very top! Bridgette had a blast. She tried swimming, hiked a lot, and got covered in mud. One morning we woke up early and hiked in to a few gorgeous lakes to fish. It was so fun.
On Daylen's birthday, we decided to skip our usual favorite places to eat and try a food truck called Capitol Burger. I'm so glad we did! We both agreed it was one of the best burgers we ever had. I got a cheeseburger, and Daylen got a pulled pork burger. We watched the fireworks from our camp spot on the 4th and had a fire!
We also visited the park on our last day! It was so pretty, as usual, and I got some good photos on the scenic drive. We got a few stickers for our water bottles and I got a stamp for my National Parks passport. The pie shop we usually visit in the park was completely out of jam! We love going there for jam and pies.
On our way home we visited Jordan Pines for a photo session. It was so pretty at sunset! We aren't in Salt Lake City a lot, so it was fun to explore.
We had a great trip! I can't wait to go back soon.
