This June, the day after my birthday, we took a trip with my mom and Rob to California to escape to the beach for a few days! I decided for my 24th birthday this year, I wanted to roller skate on the beach. So we planned some fun activities and hit the road! It was a blast. One of our favorite trips to California so far!
The day we drove in, we went straight to an Angels vs. Mariners game in Anaheim. I just happen to have a Mariners jersey so I decided I'd better wear it! It was a great game. We stocked up on souvenirs beforehand and grabbed batting hats full of nachos to eat at our seats. We had a great view of everything! It was super cool to see Mike Trout hit a home run and to see their new MVP Shohei Ohtani play. It was Shohei Ohtani snow globe night too for Christmas in June, so we got some snow globes.
The next morning, we had a beach day at Laguna Beach. I love Laguna! It's my favorite beach in southern California because of the rocks, plants, and palm trees. It was fun to swim in the ocean. And super warm! We stopped by our favorite sweets shop in Newport Beach, B Candy. I got a cute little fishbowl cookie!
We took home our treats and had a BBQ at the beach house for my birthday. It was so yummy! Mom and I skated a bit too. I love
The next morning we woke up and drove straight to Newport Beach to catch our fishing boat! We planned an ocean fishing trip for Daylen's birthday from Davey's Locker Sportfishing. It was such a beautiful day! Sunny and not too hot on the ocean. We fished a bit near the shore at first. Daylen caught a red snapper! Then, we took a 45 minute boat ride up the coast near Huntington Beach and fished some more. We had live bait, huge fishing rods, and the biggest weights I've seen. It was super fun!
After being at sea all day, we decided to eat at The Crab Cooker in Newport Beach. We were so hungry! Daylen and I shared a plate of a bunch of seafood. The cod was so good! One of my favorite meals this trip for sure. Then, we headed back to Huntington Beach for a sunset skate.
The next day we woke up and spontaneously decided to head to San Diego for the day! We started at Coronado Island, right across the bay from the city. It was so cute! We took some pictures on the beach and saw some little shops.
Then, we went to go see the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum. We didn't even plan this for our trip, but it ended up being Daylen and I's favorite part of the trip! It was so cool. We walked all over the ship, end to end. We saw lots of planes, went into the bunk areas, got some souvenirs, and learned so much. My favorite photo of the trip is us next to the famous kiss statue!
We also got to visit La Jolla Cove. I was super excited to go here to see the wild Sea Lions and Seals! There were a lot out that day. We walked along the cove and watched them sunbathe, swim, and fight with each other. It was so pretty!
For dinner, I suggested we check out Little Italy, and I'm so glad we did. We ate at Buon Appetito and it was my favorite meal of the trip! So yummy. I got the spinach cheese ravioli, and Daylen got the lasagna. We had a great view of the city and the rest of Little Italy from our patio table. We ended the night with a birthday treat from The Loop Churros!
On our last morning, Daylen and I walked down to the beach to get some photos and look for shells. We got lucky and didn't have a ton of morning fog! I love the beach in the morning. We got some Starbucks too. It's our tradition! We also stopped by the Huntington Beach Harley Davidson.
On our way out we stopped in Las Vegas! We got to see the Bellagio fountains and walked around the strip.
We had such a great trip! We did so much, all super fun. Can't wait to go back!
