Boise Idaho Weekend Trip | What to do in Boise

If you're looking for a fun weekend trip, consider heading up to Boise, Idaho! We spent Memorial Weekend in Boise, exploring the city and mountains nearby. I've compiled everything we did, what we liked, and where to go so you have a guide to Boise! I love exploring new cities and finding fun activities to do. There is definitely a lot to do in Boise! I do recommend going in the spring / early summer or late summer / early fall for optimal weather and scenery. It's a gorgeous, outdoorsy city!

The first thing we did when we arrived in Boise, was head to the Boise Farmers and Artists Market. It runs from April - October, 9am - 1pm. There were lots of booths with amazing local artists, farmers, and more. We got some souvenirs from the market and had fun walking around in the amazing weather! I even got spud fudge, fudge made with potato sugar. For lunch, we stopped at Tupelo Honey. It was delicious! I loved the smothered chicken. We also walked a bit around downtown Boise, and saw the Freak Alley Art Gallery (graffiti), and went to a cute bookstore, Rediscovered Books.

Since we were close to the Boise River Greenbelt, we walked a little down the path to see the river and greenery. It's super pretty! It reminded me a lot of the Ogden River Parkway in Utah. It goes right through Boise State University, which was cool to see as well. The river was super high and fast this spring, but usually, it's great for swimming and kayaking. They even have places to jump off the bridges when the water is safe!

We checked into our hotel, The Inn at 500, and got ready for our dinner reservations later on in the evening. We loved The Inn at 500! It's so nice and super clean. The staff are very friendly, and there were complimentary snacks and sodas as we headed out each day. I'd definitely stay there again. We loved it, and the city view!

We ate at Lock, Stock, & Barrel Steakhouse in downtown Boise. This steak was absolutely amazing! I got the Parmesan New York Strip and I loved it. The prime rib was also amazing, and the sides were the perfect amount. After, we headed over to Luna Bar at Barbacoa Grill to grab some drinks on the rooftop bar. Luna Bar has a great view of the Parkcenter Pond and surrounding mountains. It was gorgeous!

Once it got dark, we walked around the city near our hotel, and got some ice cream at Stella's. It was really yummy, and they had a ton of flavors. Definitely recommend.

The next morning, we headed out early to Lucky Peak Lake in the mountains near Boise. Daylen had researched it beforehand for fishing. While the fishing wasn't great when we were there, it looked like the perfect lake to take our boat to in the summer. Lots of pavilions, floating docks, sandy beaches, and gorgeous mountain views.

We also took a drive to Cascade Lake a bit away from Boise. It was super gorgeous up there, and it was nice to stop along the way to fish in the river. Cascade Lake looked just like the Jackson Hole area!

On Memorial Day, we had scheduled e-bike rentals for a few hours to bike along the greenbelt. First, we ate breakfast at Goldy's Breakfast Bistro. Such a cute breakfast place. Then, we headed out to our e-bikes. It was a blast! We rented from EVolve E-bikes. We biked about 10 miles total along the greenbelt, and saw lots of really gorgeous scenery. E-bikes are so much fun!

On our road trip back to Utah, we stopped at Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls. I loved this stop! The falls, though low this year, were so pretty. There was a nearby lake that I'd definitely go back to in the summer with a floating dock, and lots to see in Twin Falls! We had a great trip, and can't wait to visit Boise again.
